Particle board cabinet for the sea

Is it possible to leave a particle board stand without a metal frame under the sea (sump)? I know it's better to throw everything away and start from scratch, but still... does anyone have long-term experience using a stand without a frame? (450L aquarium)

There is no frame, but there are two vertical pipes inside.

I think a beam can be reinforced without any hassle. Americans generally love wooden frames for cabinets, even for heavy loads.

It stood for two years, as nice as can be, although inside there were a couple of thin metal supports. Now it has been taken away along with the 450-liter aquarium to a relative's place for freshwater, and it's standing again...
