Yesterday, the Chaetodon Auriga died... Send condolences, I guess.

Christine

Accept my condolences..... Did you suffer for a long time? And what were the symptoms?

Jeffrey2277

In suffering, she was not noticed - she started to eat a little less actively, there are no signs on her body, most likely some kind of internal bacterial infection. When my purchased *on the spot* ocellaris started to die, it was clear what was happening - oodinium, neither copper nor formalin helped. One thing is reassuring - the second butterfly, Chaetodon Collare, is alive and well - eating like a horse (maybe trying to eat before death?). PS: Thank you for your condolences.

I have had my charioteer swimming for a month, and the collar for a year and a half... I think it's cyanides...

Listen, what about the leukosternon surgeon? How do they adapt in aquariums? I've had an overwhelming desire to get one for a long time, and maybe also a yellow zebrasoma, even though Smallreef has shared some horror stories in the style of IchMagnet.

Cindy

Leukosternons are heavy beasts, but you might get lucky....... zebrasoma is better....

Jasmine

Or maybe both at once? Who knows, if not both, at least one might adapt...

Martin3206

You can have both... are there many invertebrates?

Karen1649

For now, a little bit of large euphyllia, living stones completely covered with discoactinia and rodactis, green clavularia, and one short-spined sea urchin... After celebrating the New Year, I'm setting up another metal halide light—I want to buy a large carpet anemone... These are my plans... P.S. I finally found a company in Kyiv selling transparent acrylic tubes, so I'm starting to make the RIGHT skimmer.

Antonio

The main problem is that, first of all, no one transports these little animals, especially flavescens. And if they do transport them, they try to get rid of them as soon as they arrive (so they die at the client's place).

Kathy

Well, you made me laugh with the last phrase—even the tooth has passed. The thing is, in one store they sell leusternons for $40 each for medium-sized ones, but one hasn't sold and has been stuck for 1.5 months, so now they're selling it for $60—I'm thinking of getting it. The fish is healthy, has lived in the aquarium for at least a month (I'm skeptical about the claimed 1.5)—there are definitely better chances.

Darrell7542

Then it's worth taking about 10 centimeters?? And where are these leukosteroids almost lying around for free? (don't worry, I'm far away, I won't make it in time)

Michele9664

We have a store in Kyiv - aquarium fish - on Simferopolskaya Street, just drive there.

Nicole7122

He approached once... kissed the lock... and that's it... It's quite difficult to travel often... By the way, what do you feed the butterflies...?? Leukosternon will need quality zooplankton mixed with plant feed...

Tara2761

What I feed the butterflies... these pests first ate all the small worms that had grown on the skeleton of the euphyllia - and there were hardly any left, all the stones, including regular limestone, were completely overgrown. However, no one doubted that - they are butterflies after all. In general, I feed them very good shrimp, and I used to give them tetra food for marine fish.

Patricia1746

Leucosternum for $40 is a bargain. 60 is the normal price. They are shocking guys. There's nothing to compare them to. I've had about 20 of them. Sometimes you transfer them from one aquarium to another (with a common cycle), and in less than 10 seconds, the bastard gets a "heart attack" - paralyzed. Flavescens has a feeding problem. It needs a carpet of fine-haired green algae. Most of the time, it doesn't want to eat anything else. I experimented with a dozen... honestly, I didn't understand anything. They all died of starvation in 1.5 months, and not a single one even touched the proposed diverse animal-based feeds and fl

Lee425

Chaetodon collare also died...

Ryan1989

I sympathize... And why can't they live???

Amanda5586

Who knows for sure... I'll buy a couple of fair shrimp soon—lively, bright shrimp—and they won't die like the tea tree ones...

Hello everyone! I had a total of 5 white-breasted surgeonfish, but not all at once. It's a beautiful fish, but it tends to get sick a lot, even those that were kept in the store for 2 weeks before they came to me. The drive took 15 minutes, and we would swim them in freshwater and then put them in the aquarium. After a few days, the nightmare would begin - it's impossible to catch them! Then the process of transplanting corals in the sump, moving rocks into buckets, and catching the fish would start. In general, I won't be buying them anymore, as you can't have everything at once. Here, they cost 30 euros for fish between 10-15 cm. The only downside is that all the fish come from deliveries, so if you don't make it to the store, the stock will be gone the next day. But as a regular customer, I can ask them to hold what I want, and I just need to come and pick it up. There's also an option to return the fish or exchange them

my condolences and immediate remarks, until you resolve the issue with water quality - and judging by previous posts - the issue is still open, as a new skimmer is planned - I do not recommend you to keep butterflies, angels, surgeons, etc. - otherwise everyone will get tired of writing condolences

Look at the dates, it's a matter from two years ago.

Tammy2040

I'm really exhausted, but I still feel sorry for the fish.

Andrea

The Aquarium Fish store is not open. We currently have fish at the Aquaristics Center. Last Thursday, there was a shipment from Sri Lanka, and there are also White-bellied fish available.
