I inherited a functioning aquarium set Hagen Fluval SEA Reef M-40, 53 liters, which has been running for about 3-4 years. I have a few questions: 1. This aquarium was using Tetra salt, which has run out and is practically unavailable. From what I understand by reading forums, it is not the best option. Currently, the aquarium mainly has soft corals, but I am considering LPS and choosing between two salt options: Aquarium Systems Reef Cry or Tropic Marin. 2. The skimmer that came with the set has stopped working. There is no sump in this set; the back wall with the overflow is divided into three chambers, and the skimmer was in the first one. The Hydor Slim-Skim Nano fits in size and is available at a good price. Has anyone used it, and what are the impressions? 3. The question that worries me the most is about RO water. I cannot install a reverse osmosis system due to low water pressure, and since we are renting the house, it is not possible. Can I use distilled water? I tested it with a TDS meter, and it shows 001. There are also vending machines with so-called purified artesian water, but the results there range from 0120 to 0190. Is there any option to further purify without reverse osmosis?
