I need advice! The aquarium is over two years old. The corals are doing great. All parameters are normal. There are no unwanted algae. The rocks are clean and are covered with coraline. But there is one problem! I can't get rid of the algae on the substrate. I've tried everything. I collected the top layer of the substrate, rinsed it thoroughly, and put it back in the aquarium. It was fruitless. The most interesting thing is that if I stir the substrate, it stays white for literally an hour or an hour and a half... and then it starts to get covered with algae again. These are dinoflagellates. In this discussion, they recommend fighting them with the FAUNA MARIN ULTRA ALGEA X product. But this product has been discontinued and is hard to find. They say that the equivalent is FAUNA MARIN dino x. Is that true? There is also another product from the same company – RED X. Has anyone used it to combat dinoflagellates? How effective is it? I would appreciate any information!
