• Fighting unwanted algae!

  • Kimberly3727

I read on the forum about a medication called Fluconazole. I tried it. I am VERY satisfied with the result. All unwanted algae have disappeared. The fish don't care! The corals are indifferent! Chaetomorpha is alive. Caulerpa has all died, but I blame that on replacing the lighting in the sump with LED, which has been on 24/7... it may have burned out. The skimmer was turned off. I removed the carbon. I turned off the UV. I took out the anti-phosphates, ammonia, and other stuff from the system. All filtration was done through a filter pad. It got heavily clogged. I changed it every 3 days. I turned the skimmer back on after 7 days. I started it at low settings... increasing the power every day... The substrate has "bleached."

Good day! What dosage did you use? Did you buy it in ampoules or tablets?

Whitney

taken in capsules. you will find the dosage in the link in the first post. (if I'm not mistaken, it's 7 mg per 1L.)
