Tropic Marin Syn-Biotic sea salt, who has used or dealt with this salt? The story is as follows - I recently bought this salt, started dissolving it, but after dissolving, there was a thin layer of yellowish particles on top and quite a lot of sediment as well. After about 20-30 minutes of mixing, I did a couple of tests - carbonate hardness was 6, calcium was 320!!!!! The next morning, I looked closely at the salt and saw these pink-yellow granules, mostly in the upper part of the bucket, while there were almost none near the bottom! I scooped salt from the bottom of the bucket and mixed 5 liters for testing; there was much less sediment and floating particles, but they were still present! After 30 minutes of mixing, I did a calcium test and couldn't get a result!!!!!!! The solution is not pink; it is immediately bluish, even without dripping from an insulin syringe!!!!! I am interested in feedback from people who have dealt with this salt! Also, what could the last calcium test mean??? Is it absent??? The seller claims that the salt is 100% original and is confident in the supplier!!!!

Question for you, when you bought the salt, was it in a bag and in a sealed bucket? Where and from whom did you buy it? Regarding the tests, please test with other tests; when there is confusion, drawing conclusions from one set of tests will be incorrect, as tests can be misleading for many reasons. I personally use Tropic Marine Pro Reef sea salt, and I do not buy Bio-Actif salt. He will explain in detail what kind of salt you have and what it is used for, etc.

Salt is in a cellophane bag and secured with a plastic tie, and the lid on the bucket was sitting in the finger recess! But as I later realized, it can be opened without damaging it! I checked the tests about 30 times, measuring the water in the 420 aquarium for calcium.

Go to the section on Seawater Chemistry; there is a lot to read, and you might find something interesting. At least this.
