• The zoo in Warsaw

  • Bonnie

Passing through, I visited Warsaw, and after sightseeing, I went to the zoo. The park was surprising. I was told that Kyiv has the third best zoo in the world, and Kharkiv has the best in Europe (exaggerated). Of course, it's not Berlin, but I was amazed by the presence of gorillas, rhinos, sea lions, and a large flock of penguins... And all this on a large territory, with big ponds and enclosures. Not just two or three elephants, but a herd; not three giraffes, but five or six. I couldn't resist visiting the aquarium. There were several indoor tanks with front glass, a marine tank with a shark (seemingly a reef shark) about one and a half meters long. I liked the herbivore tank, 20 meters long and about one and a half meters high. I was surprised that the front glass (acrylic) had only one seam over 20 meters. There was one large reef aquarium about 2 meters high. Mostly soft corals and SPS. I was impressed by the presence of driftwood and good lighting all the way to the bottom. There was a separate aquarium with anemones and clownfish, and another one with just seahorses.
