• Aiptasia has tormented me.

Dear experienced marine aquarium enthusiasts, please advise which creatures are most effective in combating aiptasia. No kalkwasser or vinegar suggestions, please.

Erica

I had a Lysa wurdemanni shrimp for two and a half years. It worked great! I only saw it at night.

Melanie

Helmon is a fish that is not only beautiful and interesting in behavior but also eats all the aiptasia to nothing!

Stacey4437

brought it out with plain boiling water

Can a helmon be kept in a 120-liter aquarium, or will it be too cramped? Maybe someone has one for rent for a while?

Maybe someone has one for rent for a while? It's unlikely that anyone will give up their pet. Try shrimp: Lysa kuekenthali - 380. (eats aiptasia) Lysa wurdemanni - 380. (eats aiptasia) Cheap, beautiful, and you can get not just one but a handful))) It all depends on the amount of aiptasia. If it's a single case, boil some osmosis water and use a syringe directly on it; still, every day you add osmosis water and 5ml of boiling water won't raise the temperature in 120 liters.

Rhynchocinetes durbanensis Camel shrimp I bought 2 pieces. In a month, not a single aiptasia remained. I bought them for 230 each.

Michael

scatophagus argus - I had one, it didn't eat the aiptasia, but it did pick at the zoanthids... Maybe I was lucky with it. Got rid of it...

Gabriel

Vinegar and no problems.
