• How many skimmats does your pen produce?

Have a good day, everyone! I suggest sharing information on how much skimmate (in milliliters) your skimmer produces in, for example, one week? Also, please indicate the volume of the aquarium.

Aaron

I have an aquarium of about 700 liters (with a sump) and in one week, I get about a liter of very dark skimmate.

Atman SK-2000 protein skimmer, modified, with a PN-2500 pump. The system is 440 liters, producing about 0.6 liters of moderately dark skimmate per week. I feed twice a day, a cube of frozen food in the morning and dry food in the evening. There are 8 fish. Coral load is average. In my opinion, the amount of skimmate depends more on the power of the skimmer and the load on the system than on the volume of the aquarium.

Here are the photos of how much skimmate accumulates in a week. Sometimes it can be darker and there can be more deposits on the walls, but it all depends on the feeding frequency. The total volume is 700 liters. There are 8 fish, 2 shrimp, and two stars. I mainly feed a little twice a day, with some frozen food in the morning and frozen and plant-based food in the evening. Once a week, I give live food. Thursday is cleaning and unloading day.

About a liter a week, tea color.

I replaced the foam generator with an ATMAN-388 low-voltage pump from Nox. There is much more foam now. In three days, it skimmed 0.5 liters!
