• Help with the aquarium

  • Diana7891

Good afternoon! I need help with aquarium maintenance. It's a 120-liter Bowie. I fought with algae about a year ago by adding BioDegrader and vodka. Everything went super well. For about six months, the inhabitants lived excellently. Then the algae came back, and using the usual method didn't work :-( The algae are growing like crazy, and most importantly, the poor anemones have closed up... Nitrates are around 25. Phosphates are not detected. The other soft corals are doing fine. Therefore, my question is - I need a specialist who can help with regular visits and consultations. On the other days, I will follow the recommendations left. I will gladly compensate for the time spent. That's it. I feel sorry for the inhabitants...

I fought with the grass about a year ago by adding a Biodegrader and vodka. Read experienced sailors, especially regarding the first sentence; in my opinion, your mistake is that chemistry doesn't lead to good outcomes.

A marine aquarium is all about chemistry, and it is chemistry that has made marine aquariums accessible to many. Sea salt is a mixture of chemical elements, balancing is also chemistry, and a calcium reactor involves dissolving carbonate in carbonic acid. There is plenty of biology involved as well, but without chemistry, marine aquariums would be the domain of either very wealthy people or only those living on the coasts.

What are we going to consider chemistry? Bacteria or vodka? And the essence of the topic is that I am asking for advice (or even significant help for money) in what I am struggling with.

this is not a question, describe the system, water treatment, tests, etc.

Richard

Well, how is this not a question? He is asking for help, for payment. Here is his explanation. And the essence of the topic is that I am asking for advice (or even significant help for money) in what I am struggling with. And you are burdening him with tests, water treatment, etc.
