• Question about the pump!?

  • Laura9093

Good night! I was browsing a classifieds site and came across this pump. As I understand it, this is a circulation pump for heating, just slightly modified. I have a question: what types of pumps like this can be used in a marine aquarium? Dry or wet rotor? Modifying the fittings is not a problem! I'm interested in this for cost-saving purposes, as a similar pump can be bought for around 500 for 3-4 cubic meters, while pumps for marine aquariums typically cost between 1000-1500 on average.

For example, take the pump in the photo and a cheaper option for 12 cubic meters. What's the difference???

Maxim, the question is about the material that comes into contact with water.

I read a bit about this pump. What do we have? Only the volute is changing - not a problem, I'll make one like this. A couple of hours with the milling machine and it's ready. Now I just need to decide on the pump, as Grundfos is a bit pricey.
