Question to Tanya or Max, and everyone else... The middle of my acropora is turning white, I want to save it, or at least make a "backup" from a couple of branches. How should I best frag it? What are the nuances with acros?

First, I would like to see a photo, preferably in high resolution and sharp.

Tan, about the photo right at the most painful spot below the waist - the knee? I still don't have the right equipment to take a proper picture... (just when I got some money, everything is at sea) The essence is that the middle of the acropora bush is turning white (dying) and it's gradually spreading further and further... And while there's still a chance, I want to make a couple of frags, and ideally, I want them to survive... That's why I'm asking what nuances there are with acros.

It whitens very slowly but steadily, starting from the middle and moving to the lower branches, which gradually die off. But no, it doesn't shed—definitely not, judging by your description... I haven't seen planarians, but they are hard to notice (besides, I have them in my aquarium; I forgot about them when I was moving the stones and a couple of corals—I should have rinsed them in osmosis... Rinsing in osmosis—would that be an option for the acry? I won't treat with levamisole any earlier than in two weeks—I will wait until the parameters stabilize...

I understand that the instability of parameters and stress after the move have affected the livestock... in such cases, fragmentation doesn't always help... especially since there was already an unsuccessful attempt. Common planarians are not the issue here; I was talking about acroporids!!!!! Osmosis is not an option, in a solution from TM, or a solution with the addition of iodine or Lugol's... about 10-15 drops per 0.5-1 liter... I did it by eye... just a slightly yellow solution. We soak the coral for 7-10 minutes, monitor the coral's condition and the clarity of the water, and at the end, we gently swirl it in the container for assurance.

I've had her for about 3 months now, that's for sure, and the middle started to whiten a week or two after the purchase... and it's slowly getting whiter... I could soak her in Lugol's solution - that's an option (I have no idea what planarians I already have) need to buy different tetras.
