• determine what the trouble is

I noticed small creatures moving like snails, but without shells, with a diameter of 3-4 mm, densely covering the hammer euphyllia. The mushrooms, Caulastrea candy, have become mottled because of them; sometimes they appear on the glass so that anyone suffering from their presence doesn't notice... should I fight this and how?

Larry

Well, the photo is fine, but I'm struggling to figure out whether it's planarians or nudibranchs; God knows what you have there. It's hard to determine blindly.

Scott9892

We need to fight! And a photo is desirable, very!

Wanda666

I'll try to film this somehow... but for now, I'll search for planaria on Google.

Maria6659

These are definitely not planarians or nudibranchs... they definitely feed on coral mucus. On lollipops, they resemble human freckles, and on mushrooms and eophilia, they match the color of the body.

Vincent

Oh, planaria, we are waiting for a photo or at least something similar from the internet.

Jacob4800

The topic is necessary.

Aaron

Yes, planarians... it turns out they come in different types, mine look like transparent leeches, but their shape is almost round... I looked into the topic, Nikolai. Thank you, I will try to buy them through osmosis... I didn't notice this while I had the mandarin fish, but with its appearance and the amphipods, their numbers decreased - they only came out in herds at night, and now there are none even at night. What could this be? Where have they gone or why have they stopped reproducing? There are a few in the tank, but they also seem sluggish.

Maria

With your permission, I will write in your thread. Algae have appeared in my home reef, the parameters are normal, the equipment is working, and there have been no changes at all in the last six months. It's impossible to specifically identify the problem from the photo. Please advise what to do, or send a link. I would appreciate it.

Melissa

What about the parameters of osmosis and how is it flowing?

Stephen

Unfortunately, I have no way to test osmosis. The membrane is up to 10 months old, but I only use 15-20 liters of water per month, so I don't think it has aged. The flow rate is 60/30/36, with an Aquael 1200 l/h backpack and a 2600 l/h circulator.

David

I rinsed the euphyllias in osmosis—just put them in a barrel for one minute—you have to see how they all floated, like a snowfall, only brown in color... I put the corals back—everyone shrank, stressed out... I'm watching them, rinsed the sarcophyton—same thing... but what about those that you can't pull out of the tank? Well, the rock with the rodactis can still be managed, but I need to look for other ways to deal with this trouble.

Katie3017

Does it help? How does the coral behave after being in freshwater?

James4342

While the shriveled ones are standing, although some tentacles are noticeably swelling, the night will pass, and the morning will show... but so many planarians - I couldn't even imagine such a quantity of them.

Brian6895

Morning. The hammerhead is still not fully recovered, and the caviar of such sizes has never been seen—overall, the planarians have indeed had a negative effect on the well-being of the corals... now it's the turn of the rodactis to take a dip...

There was also a problem with planarians on euphyllias, and then throughout the aquarium. Levamisole (for injections) helped; I haven't seen planarians at all for two years. Only the wrasse got stressed during the treatment.

There was also a problem with planarians on euphyllias, and then throughout the aquarium. Levamisole (for injections) helped; I haven't seen any planarians at all for two years. Only the wrasse got stressed during the treatment. I would like to know more about levamisole—what proportions to use, etc. What happened with the wrasse? How did it affect him? After rinsing in osmosis, all the euphyllias feel great, but the rodactis have been stressed for several days... and there are a lot of mushrooms, even on the glass of the aquarium, so more radical measures are needed, as it's almost impossible to rinse everything.

Jeffrey

Thank you very much for such a detailed response... also enlighten me - what does "poured 6mg of snow" mean?

Joseph9057

it refers to marine snow

Amy

I got a nice little fish, forgot its name... I forgot about planaria, but I've already grown such a thicket of aiptasia...
