Hello everyone! I want to set up my first budget marine aquarium. I have had two freshwater aquariums over 200 liters for more than 15 years. I probably want a mini reef and a small number of not very demanding fish (like clownfish). Please help with advice. What do I need to start? I currently have an aquarium that is 50 cm high, about 50x50 cm in base dimensions, but it is not quite the right shape, with a volume of around 100 liters. I have a regular internal filter that is quite powerful. I have two T8 15W lamps. What else do I need to buy that isn't too expensive? I understand that I need live rock; where can I get it and for how much? Where can I get water for salting? Is Kyiv tap water not suitable at all? Maybe someone has leftover equipment from upgrading to larger aquariums that they would like to sell? I would greatly appreciate your advice and suggestions!

Can I install, let's say, 4 T8 lamps of 15W each? What should the lighting power be for my aquarium?

It's better to read these topics in advance, and many questions will be eliminated. However, new ones will arise when you read them, and a lot will change. Please don't take offense; such questions are asked monthly, if not more often. For obvious reasons, these topics are not active (people get tired of repeating the same thing).

Regarding T8, it depends on how you look at it)) there are also very positive examples:

You can also start MA on the water supply))) And there will be no less life in it. But is it the one you wanted... (from personal experience!) And there it’s a matter of taste))))
