How to remove plaque?
Melinda
Ask the sailors, they will help.
Stephen
Dear, your response is not quite clear to me! Did I write to the wrong place?
Adrienne
it's very hard to see!

A stain in the form of black coating. There is already an unsuccessful experience in dealing with the same stain. A rock with zoanthids was affected. Cleaning with a brush did not yield the desired results, and the coating kept reappearing. As a result, the zoanthids died. The rock was removed from the aquarium. And here we are again in the same situation! What to do?
Bridget
It kind of resembles a sponge... is it soft when you touch it?
Scott9892
It is soft and "dusty."

I also have a few of those sponges. I never even thought about getting rid of them. What are they dangerous for?
Kenneth2761
I have a lot of them in my tank too, and not just black ones; there are pink and yellow ones as well. They seem to be filters. If I remember correctly, the sponges grow actively when silicates are present in the water.
Natalie
Does it dust when touched? If so, then it's not a sponge.
Troy8808
It is indeed dusty!

If it is very tight, scrape it off and siphon the water into a separate container using a tube (usually done during water changes).
