• Is it worth getting a sea? I seek advice...

Hello, I decided to try a marine aquarium... But there are many BUTs! So, in order not to ruin the livestock and not to throw money away, I ask for a couple of tips from more experienced people. The question is whether it is possible to combine a marine aquarium with my absence from it, as my relatives have already lived in constant fear when I leave for vacation 3-4 times a year for at least a week, not counting weekends out of town, leaving them with all the freshwater livestock of rays, discus, and plant eaters. 1. How long can a marine aquarium go without maintenance and feeding? a) with a reef b) only fish (I think clowns or something like that won't work) 2. Can my spouse handle feeding and maintenance if a "distant" person is involved? 3. I see an aquarium size of 60h*50-55w*60d or 60h*50w*80d, is such a size suitable for a marine setup? Thank you...

When I'm away from home for a week or two, my daughter takes care of the aquarium. Her responsibilities include feeding the fish once a day and adding water as needed. The rest is at her own risk. The light is on a timer. It's advisable to set up two water pumps in case one gets jammed. The electricity might go out. In general, any unexpected situations are possible, and what can you do... Well, or she can watch the Discovery Channel on TV.

And no one will say about the expansion? What care is needed for coral stones? In general, just enough in two words, no need to immediately mention Google and "it's enough to just search." Guppies are also fed once a day, but in a planted tank, they can live without feeding for a week or two if necessary.

If you have doubts about whether to do it or not, then it's probably not worth it.

So much useful information can be gleaned from the forum lately, and the main thing is that people are also nodding in agreement...
