Good day, I am preparing to launch a new aquarium (D1800*H600*W700mm) and I can't decide on the background. I am interested in the opinions of fellow marine enthusiasts on which background (oracle) is more suitable. The lighting will be 3*175W + 4*80W + night LED lighting, and for decoration, there will be two rock piles on the sides and a lagoon in the middle. I want to achieve a "depth of space." Please share your experiences. P.S. At the moment, I am wavering between #51 gentian blue and #65 cobalt blue. Other interesting shades are #86 bright blue and #57 road blue. I added a catalog to make the conversation more specific and precise, and who knows, it might be useful to someone else!

if only there were different colors, but as it is, just shades and in general - it's all subjective, for example, I like the current black more than the old blue. ... Offtopic, 175 lamps are quite rare, maybe we should go with 150 after all?

not... black is for connoisseurs, I definitely won't stick it... once it was on a 54L aquarium, it's not the same in my opinion... although if we think in terms of Pioneer’s Kuro technology, black in cinema is as fundamental as white in painting, and the "blacker" the black color, the more contrasting and vibrant other colors will appear... but again, is this applicable to aquariums? and besides, I want it to resemble the natural sea. Off-topic: in the lamp designed for 250 watts, everything is tailored, the socket for the reflux is 175 watts, the same as 250 watts, but 150 watts is different.

Everything is correct about the background. It's a pity there is no oracle with "depth simulation," where the bottom is dark blue and the top is light blue. There is such a background without a self-adhesive base. It can be "planted" on glycerin. I had one like that in my cichlid tank; it looked very good and lasted more than two years without any problems (I sold the aquarium).

I always used blue or light blue tape, but I sealed the last aquarium with black. I won't use blue tape anymore.

I prefer black. Firstly, it adds depth, like all dark backgrounds, and secondly, inhabitants of the aquarium look brighter and more contrasting against a dark or black background.

Taste and color have no comrades; everyone has their own perception of depth. I tried the Oracle from the 641 series, No. 562 and 070. It peels off, obscures light, and visually reduces the aquarium. And after such actions, is there a lot of glue left on the glass? I've been struggling for several days with the desire to remove the Arakal from the filled aquarium and stick on another one (darker). But most likely I won't take the risk and will leave it as it is.

The remaining glue can be removed with acetone or nail polish remover. But is this necessary in an active aquarium? I used dark blue matte (the color of "Kyivstar"). There is depth, and the colors look good on dark backgrounds. Black is really a matter of taste.

You have 065 (that's what Lyokha told me), at least that's the marking, with the corporate color of "KIEVSTAR" nothing in common, don't mislead, but I like 065 and I might choose it.

I didn't buy an oracle for myself. I have a friend who works at an advertising agency. I asked him, and he said he had one available after putting up the "Kyivstar" advertisement. So I shared what I knew. But that's not so important now. Now about the lighting. I have 3 MH 150W 20000K and 2 actinics of 30W each. I will be adding one T5 80W "AquaMedic Reef Blue" to eliminate the shadow from the stiffener on the back wall with fluorescent light and also to add another "step" in simulating "dawn-morning-noon-evening-sunset."
